Hi, I'm Khairul! I'm excited to be taking part in this year's HYROX not just as a personal fitness challenge, but also as an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
One of the biggest influences in my life has been working with students with disabilities. They taught me to slow down, appreciate the simple things, and see the world from a different perspective. My experiences as an outdoor educator in Singapore continually reminded me that compassion, kindness, and supporting one another can make an incredible difference.
This challenge is also deeply personal. Three months before my wedding, I lost my grandfather, someone I had visited almost every weekend for as long as I can remember. Because of our religious traditions, my grandmother was also unable to attend the wedding. Those moments reminded me just how precious time with our loved ones truly is, and how our health can shape some of life's most meaningful memories.
HYROX will definitely test my physical and mental limits, but I'm looking forward to taking on this challenge alongside an amazing team while raising awareness and funds for a cause that supports healthier communities around the world.
Through this journey, I hope to inspire others to support the cause, show that every contribution, no matter how small, can make a real difference. When we come together for something bigger than ourselves, we can create a lasting impact.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for supporting our fundraising efforts. Every donation is greatly appreciated.
Faces beyond the challenge

I'm Dina, a full-time physiotherapist who has spent my career helping people stay active - not just active, but strong enough to keep doing the things they love. Whether that's playing sport, chasing after their kids, or working a physically demanding job, my goal has always been to help people move well and live without unnecessary limitations.
Outside of work, I'm passionate about sport - especially volleyball. As I've gotten older, I've realised that staying physically strong isn't just about performance; it's what allows me to keep enjoying the activities I love while reducing my risk of injury. Being active has become one of the most important ways I look after both my physical and mental health.
There was a time when anxiety and constantly feeling "not good enough" held me back. Exercise became more than just fitness—it became a way to regulate my emotions, build resilience, and remind myself that I'm capable of more than I think. Every new challenge has helped grow my confidence, and each time I finish something difficult, I walk away thinking, "Hey... I actually can do this."
HYROX is one of those challenges.
It's something I never imagined myself signing up for, let alone believing I could do well in. But the people around me believed in me before I believed in myself.
For me, HYROX isn't just about crossing a finish line. It's about testing my physical and mental limits, stepping outside my comfort zone, and proving to myself that confidence is built through action—not by waiting until you feel ready.
As a woman who's relatively small in stature, it's easy to feel like you're at a disadvantage or that you're expected to fit into certain boxes. Through this journey, I want to show myself—and hopefully others—that strength isn't defined by your size. You don't have to look a certain way to be capable of extraordinary things.
If I can inspire even one person to back themselves, challenge their own limits, or simply take the first step towards a healthier, stronger life, then this journey will have been worth it.

Some lessons don't truly make sense until life gives them meaning.
Growing up, my dad would always remind me that there are only two certainties in life: death and taxes. Everything else is uncertain. So whatever you choose to do, give it your very best.
It wasn't until my grandmother passed away earlier this year, following an extraordinary 12-year battle with breast cancer, that those words took on a whole new meaning.
Watching someone you love face life's greatest certainty with such resilience changes your perspective. It reminds you that while we can't always control the outcome, we can always choose how we show up along the way.
Beyond Borders became my way of doing exactly that.
Outside of Hyrox, you'll usually find me bringing people together - whether that's through community events, volunteering, mentoring, or simply catching up over a good coffee. I love meeting new people, learning something I didn't know yesterday, and saying "yes" to opportunities that challenge me to grow.
So far, this journey has reminded me that growth isn't built in one big moment. It's built through the small decisions we make every day: choosing to show up, embracing discomfort, and taking one more step, even when it feels hard.
If our story has resonated with you in any way, we'd love for you to be part of it. Whether that's supporting our Global Health fundraiser, sharing our journey, or simply cheering us on from afar, every contribution helps create opportunities for communities around the world through better healthcare, education and sustainable development.
We hope you'll join us - not just at the start line or the finish line, but beyond it.

Hi! I'm Zac, and personally, living on this planet for 23 years hasn't been too bad (I'd give it a solid 9/10). I'm currently a student at Curtin University, studying a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in International Business and Marketing).
I've always loved sports since I was a little kid, so when HYROX was brought to my attention, it immediately caught my interest. To me, HYROX is a test of physical, mental, and communication strength. Ultimately, it's a chance to find out whether I have what it takes to push through these challenges.
The reason I joined goes deeper than fitness. It reminded me of my grandparents, they taught me to fight for what I stand for. With the recent passing of my grandmother, I was reminded of something else she taught me: if other people can make their dreams come true, so can you. All it takes is belief, and you're already halfway there.
My grandfather, who served in the Royal Malaysian Navy, taught me the saying "Agi Idup, Agi Ngelaban" meaning; as long as I am still breathing, there I shall guard my ground. Hence, to commemorate my grandparents, I'll be taking on HYROX for charity, in their honour.
So, moving forward, every rep and every ounce of effort on race day will be dedicated to them. This isn't just a fitness challenge for me, it's a way to carry their life lessons forward and turn that belief they instilled in me into something tangible. If their story resonates with you even a little, I'd love your support; whether that's cheering me on, donating to the cause or simply remembering that no matter what you're up against, you're stronger than you think.
Agi Idup, Agi Ngelaban.
